Seattle has a favorite Halloween Candy (and it's not candy corn)

Now that we’re one day to Halloween, it’s time to bring up the only thing that matters: candy.

Halloween candy refers to fun-sized treats that are typically handed to children as they wander from house to house. Although, who are we kidding. The adults totally have a stash too.

According to the National Retail Federation, trick-or-treaters are expected to be down 20% this year; however, only 11% fewer people plan to hand out candy. Each year, Candy Store releases the three most popular Halloween candies in each state after surveying 32,000+ customers across all 50 states.

In previous years, saltwater taffy took the top spot in Washington. This year, the historic Halloween candy was dethroned by the one and only Tootsie Pop. Skittles came in third place.

The lollipops with the tootsie center didn’t seem to be the favorite for the entire country, as Washington was the only state to have given it the top spot.

Other big winners included Skittles, Reese’s Cups, Starburst, M&M’s, and Hot Tamales.
