If you’ve wanted to try camping, but aren’t too keen on setting up a tent in the snowy weather, give glamping a try. The Rolling Huts in Methow Valley are a gorgeous and safe escape from city life — and just a day trip away.

Located three and a half hours out of Downtown Seattle, the Rolling Huts offer plenty of seclusion and privacy, while still keeping you close to civilization.

The six huts are grouped as a herd, each facing outwards with views of the mountains.

The glass-front huts look like million-dollar tiny houses, with built-in luxurious touches such as fireplaces and free WiFi. Each hut also comes with a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot.

The insides of each hut feature modular wooden furniture, perfectly complimenting the outside nature. You could spend hours on the sofa or porch, gazing at the stars and mountain range through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Although set up as a cozy getaway, a few camping aspects stay true. Instead of beds, prepare to sleep on a raised platform softened with mats. Each hut has two sleeping platforms that fit two people.

If you need the restroom, you’ll have to don your coat and take a step into the outdoors. Portable toilets are located outside of each hut, equipped with a water faucet for washing both hands and dishes. Showers are located in a renovated farmhouse, a short walk from each hut.

There are few places in the world where you can wake up to the breathtaking views of the North Cascades, and waking up in the warmth with fresh coffee is surely the way to do it. Spend the rest of your day partaking in close winter activities such as skiing and boarding, joining a wilderness tour, or visiting the nearby towns of Twisp, Winthrop, and Mazama.

Pricing for the glamping huts start at $145 per night for two people and can be booked online or over the phone.
