An edgy flea market is coming to Seattle this spring

Jan 24 2020, 7:52 pm

The flea market your grandma took you to might have included withering furniture and shoes that you’re pretty sure the vendor found on the street corner, but one Seattle event wants to flip that idea upside down.

Enter: Punk Rock Flea Market.

On March 28, head to King’s Hall to enjoy a variety of arts, crafts, music, comic books, bike parts, painted rocks, graffiti supplies, jewelry, stereo equipment, punk rock paraphernalia, and literally anything else you can think of.

Event organizers say that it’s “a combination police auction and neighborhood swap meet in Andy Warhol’s garage.”

If you’re wondering whether you’re punk rock enough to enter, have no fear: The event is more about the DIY spirit of vendors, rather than a lifestyle or music. Organizers call themselves a “loose and creative bunch of artists, activists, and anarchists of every color, gender, race, and class.”

The event will feature a full bar, live DJs, as well as food trucks, zine makers, and vendors selling items of all shapes and sizes. A complete list of vendors will be released closer to the date of the event.
