We have come to a point where businesses, restaurants, and select venues are gradually being permitted to reopen. And while people may remain hesitant about venturing out into the world, one creative studio has developed a prototype of a product that has the potential to transform a perilous pandemic party to a proactive PPE party.

Los Angeles-based “multidisciplinary creative studio” Production ClubĀ has created a personal protective suit that it calls the “Micrashell,” designed to allow for social interaction without the necessity of physical distancing.

“Micrashell was born as a socially responsible solution to safely allow people to interact in close proximity,” the studio explains on its website. “Specifically designed to satisfy the needs of nightlife, live eventsĀ and entertainment industries, Micrashell is a virus-shielded, easy to control, fun to wear,Ā disinfectable, fast to deployĀ personal protective equipment (PPE)Ā that allows socializing without distancing.”

The suit even comes with its own built-in cup holder and vape supply system as well as built-in speakers and smartphone integration operated by two lithium-ion cell battery systems. Whatever your specific party needs are, the Micrashell has got you covered.

The suit itself comprises an “air-tight top suit + hybrid soft+hard helmet made of tactical, high-performance cut resistant fabric and developed for durability, endurance and easy disinfecting procedures,” the studio describes.

As well, its “top only” design allows the wearer to rock their regular clothes, use the bathroom, and even get down and dirty without having to be concerned about being compromised by any respiratory risks.

“Micrashell allows the user to see clearly through a protective shield, breathe safely through a filtration system, drink, vape, have sex and even charge their phone,” the company explains on Instagram.

Production Club also cites the increasing number of violent protests surrounding the rejection of physical distancing measures as well as politicians criticizing its effectiveness as motivation for Micrashell’s inception, stating that these factors only serve to put a higher percentage of people at risk.

“Covid-19 has drastically changed the events industry,” Production Club stated on Facebook. “We leveraged our experience in event production to propose a solution.”
