A sparkling candlelight display is returning to Green Lake next month

Nov 28 2019, 6:49 pm

The Pathway of Lights returns for another season, offering live holiday music, complimentary refreshments, twinkling candles, and festive cheer.

Begin your evening by wandering through the circuit, paths, and docks, which will be lined with twinkling lights. Unlike most other Christmas-lighting events, the Pathway of Lights will be fully illuminated with thousands of twinkling candles rather than LED lights.

You’ll be able to enjoy live holiday music by local musicians at three sites around the lake: The Green Lake Community Center on the east side, The Green Lake Small Craft Center on the south side, and The Bathhouse Theater on the west side.

While you wander, keep an eye out for the hot air balloons that will be making a reappearance due to their popularity in previous years. They’re an optimal spot for your Instagram pics and can even be seen across the water.

This year, the Pathway of Lights is supporting FamilyWorks, an organization that works towards ensuring that families are well-nourished and taken care of. Bring along a non-perishable food donation to show your support.

Parking at the event is expected to be limited, so consider arriving by bike, bus, foot or carpool. Use King County Metro Transit’s trip planning tool to figure out the best way to arrive by transit.
