More red and jumbo onions recalled from Fred Meyer due to Salmonella

A recent recall of US-grown red and yellow onions due to possible Salmonella contamination has been expanded to other food products sold in Fred Meyer stores, including Kroger, Ralphs, and Food 4 Less.

According to Fred Meyer, the recall now applies to various cheese spread dips as well as kits that could contain contaminated onions.

These products may be contaminated with Salmonella and, if eaten, could result in severe illness to those individuals who may consume them:

Symptoms of a Salmonella infection typically start six to 72 hours after exposure to a contaminated product and can include fever, chills, diarrhea, cramps, vomiting, and nausea.
