First Lady Jill Biden surprised America today by installing large pink, red, and white hearts on the North Lawn of the White House.
The hearts were inscribed with messages including “strength,” “love,” “kindness,” “family” and “healing.”

President Joe Biden told reporters that Valentine’s Day is his wife’s favorite holiday. The printed hearts are “hearkening back to the days of sharing candy hearts between friends and family,” the first lady’s office said in a statement to NBC News.
Biden herself told reporters on Friday that she “just wanted some joy. With the pandemic, just everybody’s feeling a little down. So, it’s just a little joy. A little hope. That’s all.”
