A mix of sun and rain throughout the day yesterday provided Seattle residents with the opportunity to catch a few rainbows.
Reddit user findingmybeach9 was lucky enough to find two complete rainbows, one above the other.
Rainbows are created when light is reflected and refracted when it enters through raindrops.
Double rainbows occur when this reflection and refraction process is repeated twice inside a raindrop. Compared to the primary rainbow, double rainbows generally appear dimmer and the colors are reversed.
