May 21 2020, 6:38 pm

Anyone needing food this week can pick up an emergency food box from Food Lifeline this Friday.

The boxes will be distributed at Food Lifeline on 815 South 96th Street and Bellevue College at 3000 Landerholm Circle SE on May 22 from 2 to 5 pm.

Each emergency food box contains 22 to 25 pounds of shelf-stable food items including canned fruits and vegetables, canned meats, non-meat protein items, breads and grains, as well as fresh produce items with a longer shelf life.

Food Lifeline is also seeking volunteers to help with the distribution. Those interested in helping out can sign up online.
