Fish your own food at Gold Creek Trout Farm in Woodinville

Whether you’d like to teach your children about fishing, or simply miss the thrill of feeling a pull on your line, Gold Creek Trout Farm is the perfect spot to reel in dinner.

When the farm reopened on March 6, so did their fan-favorite U-Fish program, which allows visitors to catch their own fish, clean it, and take it home.

Gold Creek Trout Farm supplies the cane poles, bait, a bucket, and a net. Staff will give you pointers such as how to put the bait on the hook but won’t do anything for you or give you a one-on-one lesson — they’re pretty strict about that.

There are two areas to catch fish. Area 1 offers 10-inch to 16-inch fish for $10 and under. Area 2 has fish that are 10-inches to 36-inches, and are priced by length of fish.

Because the farm is on private property, no fishing license is required. Visitors may be fined $20 if they’re caught catching and releasing fish back into the water.

When visiting, be sure to bring a full-face covering and stay six feet away from others at all times.
