Occupiers of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) have been filling the area with movies, music, and art.
Their latest activist art piece took place on Wednesday night when demonstrators began painting Pine Street with white block letters spelling out “Black Lives Matter,” similar to the street mural in Washington DC.
The street, being the main road through CHAZ, has also been renamed by demonstrators to Black Lives Matter Way.

It is rumored that each white letter will be given to a different artist in the community to paint over, according to Reddit user 2c_bei, who’d overheard one of the painters discuss plans for the mural.
