Seattle bistro serves up Julia Child-inspired meal kits

Going out to eat? That’s so last year.

This year is all about meal kits, and Bistro Shirlee knows that.

Chef Justin Pachmayr has taken Julia Child’s book, Mastering The Art of French Cooking, as inspiration for his new meal kit now available for takeout at the bistro.

This week’s meal kit features coq au vin with half of a Mary’s free-range chicken cooked in red wine with bacon and caramelized onions and mushrooms.

The kit also contains buttery, steamed potatoes, mixed green salad with Bleu d’ Auvergne dressing and hazelnuts, and Boat Street bread pudding.
