Airbnb announces ban on one-night bookings over Halloween weekend

Oct 2 2020, 8:54 pm

Airbnb is banning one-night bookings over the Halloween weekend to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Starting today, guests on Airbnb will be unable to make one-night bookings for entire-home listings on Friday, October 30, or Saturday, October 31, anywhere in the United States or Canada.

For those who’ve already booked one-day reservations on one of the two days, Airbnb will automatically cancel and reimburse funds.

As the Halloween weekend approaches, Airbnb will be deploying more stringent restrictions on two- and three-night reservations that may pose a heightened risk for parties.

“For example, we will significantly expand the radius of our technology that restricts certain local and last-minute bookings by guests without a history of positive reviews on Airbnb,” a representative told Daily Hive.

Those wanting to check on their reservations can contact Airbnb directly at  www.airbnb.com.
