Universal Orlando Resort to reopen to guests next week

May 25 2020, 5:15 pm

After being closed since mid-March, Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal’s Volcano Bay will be reopening to guests starting June 5.

The reopening will involve additional strict health, safety, and hygiene policies.

As visitors can enjoy the parks again, all patrons will be required to follow CDC guidelines as well as the guidelines from health officials and Universal Orlando’s policies, the facility explains on its website.

“Note that any public location where people are present provides an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19, and we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during your visit.”

The park will be opening in a limited capacity with enhanced sanitization procedures. It has also implemented additional protocols for physical distancing and screening.

All guests and staff will be required to wear a face mask during their visit, and temperature checks will be performed upon arrival. Visitors with a temperature of 100.4°F or higher will not be permitted entry.

As well, visitors and workers will be required to maintain at least two meters of distance between themselves or their groups and other guests.

The facility is also providing designated signage and markings to illustrate proper spacing in queueing, attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas.

Workers will be required to participate in extensive training on the updated measures.

“We continue to work closely with local health officials and our own health and safety experts and reference CDC guidelines with respect to the safety of our Team Members and guests during this limited opening of Universal Orlando Resort,” the site explains.

The new daily hours of operation starting June 5 are as follows:

  • Universal Studios Florida – 9 am-6 pm
  • Universal’s Islands of Adventure – 9 am-6 pm
  • Universal’s Volcano Bay – 10 am-5 pm
  • Universal CityWalk Orlando – 8 am – 10 pm

The CityWalk portion of Universal Orlando reopened on May 14.
