Shakespeare's Globe is streaming its complete stage plays for free

You can now watch some of the most iconic stage plays in their entirety, performed from the iconic Shakespeare’s Globe, from the comfort of your own home.

A recreation of the Globe Theatre, where William Shakespeare (yes, that Bill) wrote and directed all of his stage plays more than 400 years ago, Shakespeare’s Globe is the most legendary stage in modern theater.

Touted as an “academic approximation based on available data,” the recreation of this iconic stagecraft location was opened in 1997.

Now, with hopes of keeping the fire for the performing arts alive, the globe will be showing a myriad of Shakespearian works for free on their YouTube channel, or on its website and mobile app GlobePlayer.tv.

Currently, you can catch the 2009 Globe Company’s performance of Romeo and Juliet completely free from now until May 3.

Afterwards, you can see The Winter’s Tale from May 4 to 17, A Midsummer Night’s Dream from May 18 to 31, The Two Noble Kinsmen from June 1 to 14, and The Merry Wives of Windsor from June 15 to 28.

Theater lovers can also donate to help support the company while current economic and entertainment guidelines prohibit them from opening their doors.
