Brave the freezing waters at Broughton Beach in Portland next year, and you’ll be raising money for a very good cause — the Special Olympics in fact.

The annual Polar Plunge is back for the 2020 edition of its icy fundraising challenge. People, organizations, schools, and businesses come together to raise money for and support the incredible athletes of Special Olympics Oregon.

The goal of Special Olympics Oregon is to provide support, training, and competition in a variety of Olympic sports for adults and children with intellectual disabilities.

All the funds gathered from the brave individuals daring to plunge into the water go towards supporting the programming and events of more than 1,200 athletes in Oregon.
