Sip on cocoa and cider at the annual Peacock Lane Holiday Lights Displays

Dec 16 2019, 11:03 pm

The legendary Peacock Lane light displays are back for the 2019 holiday season, and are already lit and dazzling, and will be until December 31.

The Peacock Lane holiday light displays are a Portland tradition, and residents of the historic lane have been decorating their homes for decades, since 1931 in fact. (That’s a long time.)

Attendees can expect houses (mostly Tudor-style) along the lane to be festooned not only with incredible sparkling lights, but also rotating Christmas trees, nativity scenes, and life-like replicas of Frosty, Santa Claus and a variety of other colorful Christmas characters.

The cute holiday event also features free cocoa and cider for all those who come by, and the booth is open from the 15th to the 24th from 6 pm to 8 pm. While the beverages are free, donations of cash or canned goods at accepted at the booth, and are donated to Morrison Child and Family Services.

Visitors are encouraged to view the light displays by foot for the best viewing experience, because traffic can become very heavy in the area because of the lights season.
