Learn the art of making miso soup at this workshop next week

As the rain and chilly temperatures slowly sap our will to live, we futilely grasp memories of summers past to make it through this dreary weather that no amount of Italian espressos and cardamom lattes can make bearable.

And yet, hope shines bright and iridescent on SE Water Avenue, at the doors of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.

Yes, we’re talking about a miso soup workshop.

Cold weather demands soup, and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry has answered the call of cold weather with a miso making workshop, which will be taking place on the 18th from 11 am to 1 pm.

In the workshop, participants will learn about the history and science of miso, taste different kinds of miso paste, and craft a handmade batch of red miso to take home.

You’ll learn useful tips for how to use miso in the kitchen, all the while enjoying a fresh bowl of traditional miso soup.
