World-renowned travel resource and guide book publisher Lonely Planet has launched a new premium streaming platform to curb our exploration cravings as we excitedly plan for future travel adventures.

The new initiative, entitled Lonely Planet TV (LPTV), will feature a variety of stunning videos from the Lonely Planet archives. The programs will transport travelers across the globe as they explore far-reaching destinations from the comfort of their own homes.

The programming will comprise over 350 episodes of award-winning travel shows delving into an abundance of experiences and locations.

Among the selection is 18 seasons of travel series Globe Trekker, providing viewers with a nostalgic perspective of world travel with a unique combination of off-the-beaten-path destinations in regions like China as well as breathtaking scenic landscapes and terrains from across the United States.

Globe Trekker featured a variety of hosts who would set out with a camera crew to a particular country or city to take viewers along for the ride to experience the various activities and cultures.

Additionally, for the foodie in you, tune into Planet Food and indulge in the sights, smells, and colorful culinary creations from every corner of the world.

“Discover the surprising origins of Nashville hot chicken, or delve into the mix of influences that make Mexican food unique,” Lonely Planet explains. “Follow along and try your hand at making the dishes at home!”

Premium access to Lonely Planet TV is free for a limited time. However, you can sign up for a Lonely Planet membership to enjoy exclusive discounts and unlimited access to travel guides in addition to the Lonely Planet TV streaming service.
