The Graceland estate, an over 100-acre property that once belonged to the King of Rock’ n’ Roll himself, Elvis Presley in Memphis, Tennessee, will reopen to visitors on May 21.

Graceland served as a personal retreat for Presley, and was the location where his family “grew up, spent their time together, and enjoyed life.”

The reopening will come with additional protocols and safety precautions.

Mansion tours will be reduced to 25% of their average capacity, and guests are strongly urged to book their trips and purchase their tickets in advance.

“You will have the unique opportunity to walk in Elvis’ footsteps like never before — in your own personal tour space spread out from other touring guests,” the estate writes on its website. “Social distancing at its best.”

Additionally, all staff will be required to wear masks while they work. Guests will also be highly encouraged to wear facial coverings as well.

Visitors and staff will also be required to undergo temperature screenings upon entering the property. Individuals with a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher will not be permitted entry.

Shuttle seating capacity will also be cut by 50%.

As well, various signage has been placed throughout the Elvis Presley Memphis Entertainment Complex on the property, an extensive 200,000 sqft area full of exhibits and attractions surrounding Presley, to promote the importance of proper physical distancing.

Queue areas will also allow for physical distancing to avoid overcrowding in the ticket plaza, as well as retail stores and restaurants.

In terms of restaurants, they will provide both indoor and outdoor seating at 50% capacity.

“Our COVID-19 plan and protocols meet or exceed the social distancing, capacity, and health and safety guidelines outlined by local, state and federal authorities,” the website continues.
