Celebrate Japanese New Year at Portland Japanese Garden

The Portland Japanese Garden is all set to celebrate traditional Japanese New Year on January 5, 2020.

Attendees will get to experience exciting performances and activities including the Lion Dance, a tea ceremony, a Koto harp concert, and Mochitsuki (pounded rice cake) as the finale event — all to welcome the new year and celebrate prosperity and good luck in a traditional Japanese style.

There will also be an ink-wash brush drawing session and Hyakunin Issyu (poetry game), both of which will be held in the Yanai Classroom.
