Portland is pretty weird, no doubt. But few places are as weird as Rose City’s Freakybuttrue Peculiarium.

The Odditorium has grown out of its 1,200-sq-ft space and will be relocating to 640 SE Stark Street, where it will have 6,000 sq ft of space to showcase more exhibits, oddities, interactive sets, unique artwork, Portland history, event space, and even a gift shop.

The Peculiarium has served as the go-to spot for grown-ups tired of adulting, older kids, and travelers since 2011, and the new space on Stark Street will allow it to expand its collection of art, alien figures, and miscellaneous oddities.

The grand opening for the new location is set for March 31, 2020, and the new gift shop will be open on January 2, 2020. Co-owners of Peculiarium, Mike Wellins and Lisa Freeman, “share the goal of recreating the quirkiness they enjoyed about the city’s pre-Portlandia days,” according to a press release provided by the Peculiarium.
