The 11-day festival features world-premiere projects, staged readings, developing works, and a variety of events from Portland’s art community.

What makes the Fertile Ground Festival especially unique is that unlike other typical fringe festivals, it features only local artists, resident theater companies, and performers.

Originally launched by the Portland Area Theatre Alliance in 2009, Fertile Ground Festival aims to provide a space for art lovers to appreciate Portland’s “fertile ground for creativity, innovation, and daring acts of performance,” according to a release.
