California, Oregon, and Washington issue new travel advisories
California Governor Gavin Newsom, Oregon Governor Kate Brown, and Washington Governor Jay Inslee issued travel advisories Friday urging visitors entering their states or returning home from travel outside these states to self-quarantine to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The advisories ask that those entering the state quarantine for 14 days and limit their social interactions to their immediate household.
“COVID-19 does not stop at state lines. As hospitals across the West are stretched to capacity, we must take steps to ensure travelers are not bringing this disease home with them,” said Oregon Governor Kate Brown in a press release. “If you do not need to travel, you shouldn’t.”
This news comes one day after Washington Governor Jay Inslee urged Washingtonians to celebrate Thanksgiving with their immediate household members only.
“This is a temporary situation; we will get back to normal,” said Inslee.
