Beloved Portland ramen spot AFURI launches its own Yuzu lager

Sep 4 2020, 7:06 pm

A Portland treasure and recently expanded favorite amongst Japanese cuisine lovers, AFURI is launching its own house-made Yuzu lager.

With continued feeding of the PDX locals through delivery options and takeout, AFURI has been fortunate to remain on the tongues of their fans, and this new announcement brings an entirely new beverage to their delicious menu.

Beer — and lagers especially — have been a mainstay in the ramen business for decades and with this specially made, locally sourced lager, AFURI aims to bring that extension of their fantastic bowls to the people of the Portland metro area.

With three locations in and around town, the AFURI Ramen shop on 7th Avenue in Portland, AFURI Ramen on 1st Street in Beaverton, and AFURI Ramen and Dumpling on 3rd Avenue in Portland will all serve the new Yuzu Lager.

“AFURI is excited to announce the launch of AFURI Yuzu Lager,” reads the brief press release from AFURI. “Yuzu Beer is made of a local sourced Asian citrus and made by a local beer manufacturer.”

Working with Portland-native brewery Zoiglhaus Brewing, AFURI’s Yuzu lager is available starting today at all three locations around the city.

“AFURI believes AFURI Yuzu Lager makes our Ramen more enjoyable to next level,” writes Yoshi Mecklenberg, Director of Marketing for AFURI. “Enjoy with someone you love!”
