Environment Canada has issued a Weather Advisory for Montreal and its surrounding areas.
“A vigorous cold front will move across the province of Quebec today,” states the alert. Heavy flurries are expected throughout “several” regions of Southern Quebec and snow combined with strong winds could significantly reduce visibilities.
The weather agency also warns that temperatures could drop rapidly.

The advisory, issued in the early hours of Wednesday morning, are in effect for the following areas:
- Châteauguay – La Prairie area
- Laval area
- Longueuil – Varennes area
- Montréal Island area
Temperatures are expected to dip to -16ºC throughout the day with ‘feels like’ lows of -23ºC today and -24ºC tomorrow
. Environment Canada urges travellers to adapt to “changing road conditions.”
The weather agency also asks citizens to continually monitor alerts and updates.
