Trump blames "Justin T" for Home Alone 2 cameo removal

Donald Trump is blaming “Justin T” for his cameo removal in the 1992 holiday classic film Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

And no, he doesn’t mean Justin Timberlake but rather, our Prime Minister.

Trump quipped that the removal of his cameo was Justin Trudeau’s retaliation for trade talk disputes between Canada and the United States.

“I guess Justin T doesn’t much like my making him pay up on NATO or Trade!” Trump tweeted, linking to a FOX news story about the CBC television edit of the film, now without the Trump cameo.

CBC responded saying the broadcasting company cut Trump’s cameo back in 2014 to accommodate commercials and that the move “was not politically motivated.”

In the original version, Macauley Culkin’s character Kevin McCallister asks Trump for directions to the lobby at the Plaza Hotel in New York.

Trump supporters reacted angrily, stating the move by the Canadian broadcaster was politically driven.

CBC spokesperson Chuck Thompson said the scene was cut five years ago to make room for advertising space.

“As is often the case with feature films adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited for time,” Thompson said. “The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot. These edits were done in 2014, when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected president.”

Thompson said a total of eight minutes was cut for the TV version.

Meanwhile, the internet couldn’t help but wonder why Trudeau was called “Justin T” in Trump’s tweet.

Justin T. has yet to comment on Trump’s tweet.
