The question of where to find the best Canadian food has been answered by a surprising source.
“Toronto is now the great Canadian food city,” according to Montreal chef David McMillan.
In a love letter penned for Foodism magazine, the chef praises everything from the “rise of Ontario wines,” the craft beer movement and ciders, to the high quality of ingredients found throughout the province, and the abundance of talent in Toronto kitchens.
He even called into CBC Radio’s Metro Morning to proclaim, “I want to cook there!”
To which those living and eating in Toronto say, please do! (And, when? Can we book a table now?)
When one of Montreal’s beloved sons calls Toronto the best Canadian food city, you’d better start believing it. And Vancouver, if you’ve got beef, save it for Joe.
