It's so cold at this Canadian hot spring that it's freezing people's hair (PHOTOS)

Just when you thought it was cold when you woke up this morning, think again.

It’s currently cold enough in Whitehorse, Yukon, that people’s hair is literally freezing. And the crazy part is, they’re willingly letting it happen.

Each winter, the Takhini Hot Springs hosts a hair freezing contest that invites visitors to dunk their heads into the warm water and then expose their hair to the -30°C air in order to turn their hair into the perfect texture for some ice-cold styling.

Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up.

This year the contest will officially be held any day that it is cold enough and will be running all winter.

Contestants have the chance to win $2000 and free soaks in the current hot springs facility, and a 12 punch pass for the new facility when it is completed in the fall of 2020.

According to Takhini Hot Springs, entries will be accepted until March 8, 2020.

From frozen beards to straight-up wacky hair, it looks like contestants are pretty serious about taking home that – wait for it – cold-hard cash.
