Simons says, “new location.”

CF Fairview Pointe Claire, co-owned by Cadillac Fairview and Ivanhoé Cambridge, has announced that major redevelopment plans for the mall will be headlined by the arrival of a new La Maison Simons fashion store.

Plans will structure around the new Simons store as a newly revamped city centre will be unveiled in the West Island in 2021.

According to the Cadillac Fairview website, the new Simons store will be the first in the West Island and the retailer’s 16th location overall.

“Today’s announcement represents an extremely exciting stage in the evolution of CF Fairview Pointe Claire,” said Brian Salpeter, Senior Vice President, of Cadillac Fairview. “The addition of Simons, one of the premier retailers in Quebec, as well as the anticipated arrival of the new light rail transit station near the shopping centre, will serve as catalysts for the transformation of the property and the adjacent lands into a new, vibrant mixed-use community that will become the city centre for the entire West Island.”

Simons will move into the former Sears’ 180,000 sq. ft. space located at the western end of the property.

The store will occupy the second and third floors, with the ground-floor space being reimagined to accommodate enhanced dining options for the shopping mall’s facelift.

With more than 175 stores, the addition of Simons will cement CF Fairview Pointe Claire as the West Island’s leading shopping centre. Fairview Pointe Claire already hosts retailers like Apple, Lululemon, H&M, Zara, Sports Experts and Hudson’s Bay stores.

The multi-billion dollar mall project will become a focal point not only for the West Island, but for the Montreal Area as a whole. Other major renovations details for FC Fairview Pointe Caire will be revealed at a later date.
