Scheduled Rides coming soon to Uber

Uber is getting even more convenient.

Our favourite on-demand ride app is soon rolling out advanced pick up options. That’s right, for those looking to guarantee a ride at any hour, advanced booking will be available to relieve some of that booking stress.

Scheduled Rides will be available as early as 30 days to 30 minutes before your wanted drive. Users will need to select uberX, and then “Schedule a Ride.” A date, time, location, and destination will be set, and the trip will be scheduled. To top off the convenience, users can cancel anytime before the ride is on its way. And for those setting early rides, reminders are sent out 24 hours and 30 minutes in advance of the pick up time.

Uber expects this to be used mostly for business, and is, therefore, giving priority access to business accounts. “Since the option to schedule a ride is a top-requested feature from business travellers, we’re excited to give priority access to riders who have Business Profiles or are linked to their company’s Uber for Business account,” Uber says.

The Scheduled Rides program started today in Seattle, and will be followed by the top business travel cities. Interested users can sign up for early access to try out the new Scheduled Rides, or create a business account.
