Quebec reports over 700 new coronavirus cases in one day

Quebec public health has announced 750 new coronavirus cases in their daily update on Monday morning, bringing the total to more than 72,000.

According to Santé Quebec, there are now 72,651 cases in the region, 212 hospitalizations, and 37 patients in intensive care.

There have been no new deaths in the last 24 hours, but one death which has occurred at an unknown date is added, for a total of 5,826.

In the September 28 update, 1,426,069 tests have turned up negative throughout Quebec.

This is the second-highest reported case since September 27, when 896 cases were reported in Quebec, according to Santé Quebec.

Public health continues to advise people to frequently wash their hands, use alcohol-based sanitizers, wear face masks in public, and respect the maximum 10-person limit for indoor gatherings.

In line with Quebec’s health and safety protocols, for people aged 10 and over, wearing a face-covering is mandatory in most enclosed and partially enclosed public places, as well as on public transit.
