Quebec’s coronavirus cases have reached 2,840, a 342 increase from Saturday, said Premier François Legault in a press conference this afternoon.

Legault says there are 192 people in hospital and 72 of those are in ICU.

There were no new reported deaths.

He added that an emergency fund for senior’s homes is in the works in order to add resources to these facilities as “residences for the elderly are more vulnerable” to the virus.

Legault also reminded Quebecers to not go out unless necessary.

“If you do go out, stay two metres away from other people… When you come back, wash your hands with soap for 20 seconds,” he said. “That is how we are going to win the fight of our lives.”
