Retired Quebec couple wins over $14M after playing same lottery numbers for years
Living the retired life just got a whole bunch easier for a couple from Chaudière-Appalaches.
Alice Vien and Marcel Landry took home a big loot from a November 18 draw after reading Loto-Québec’s winning draw results in the newspaper and realizing the same number pattern they’d been using “for years” was the winner.
According to Loto-Québec, Vien told her husband they’d won $1 million without realizing they’d actually won over $14 million.

“We couldn’t believe it!” said Vien, a few days before the couple was presented with the classic giant cheque before claiming their big-time prize.
The couple, who are retired, say they have “every intention” of celebrating the prize pool with their family.
Épicerie St-Romuald, the retailer in Lévis that sold the couple the winning ticket, will get a smooth $140,615 as the lottery’s 1% commission.
