Have you ever wanted to just drop everything and move to a remote island in the middle of nowhere?

Because you can.

If you have over $1 million that is. (Or, get 1,000 friends to chip in $1,000 each…)

If you have more than $1.8 million at your disposal, why not splurge on your own island?

According to a listing from Private Islands Inc., a 67-acre island at the heart of Lac des Grandes Baies in Nominingue is up for grabs for USD$895,000 ($1,125,686 Canadian).

“It’s an extremely rare location especially for those prioritizing tranquillity, diverse nature and precious wildlife,” reads the listing.

A portion of the island is a protected wildlife reserve known as the Papineau-Labelle Wildlife Reserve, meaning you will have neighbours — just not of the human variety.

According to SEPAQ, the island is home to moose, deer, bears, fish, and a variety of birds.

The listing says a maximum of 12 residential homes can be built on the island, so you and your 1,000 buddies can split it up as you all see fit.

Ownership on the island grants legal access to a private boat launch, a lakeside beach, and a private dock.

The land is exactly 200 kilometres from downtown Montreal so you can be sure you’re isolating yourself with the best of them.
