Quebec’s newest phase of deconfinement just got a touch more refreshing, as public health has given the okay for beaches across the province to reopen.

The announcement was made in the province’s capital last week by Quebec’s Minister for Education and Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, Isabelle Charest, alongside National Director of Public Health Dr. Horacio Arruda.

The beach news was announced after gyms, indoor pools, and athletic arenas were also given the green light to reopen.

All sectors can reopen as of today.

Charest said sports and being outside is an” important aspect of our lives” and stressed that the “necessary adjustments” must be made so everyone can enjoy their “favourite outdoor activities.”

Quebecers are still expected to comply with physical distancing and hygiene guidelines put in place by public health among the reopening.

Today has become an important launching date for various sectors across Quebec, including hosting clients inside restaurants in Montreal, places of worship, gyms, indoor pools, athletic arenas, cinemas, theatres, and concert venues.

Physical distancing guidelines have also diminished from the oft-mentioned two-metres to one and a half. Indoor gatherings now permit a maximum of 50 people.
