Quebec reports over 140 new coronavirus cases for second consecutive day

The Quebec government revealed that the province’s COVID-19 death toll has remained at 5,662 after announcing no new deaths and 142 new known cases since Wednesday morning.

According to Santé Quebec, there are now 58,080 cases in the province, 221 hospitalizations, and 14 patients in the ICU.

Currently, a reported 683,818 tests have turned up negative throughout Quebec, and over 30,000 cases have been resolved.

The new data had been reported by hospitals and public health officials as of Wednesday, July 22, at 6 pm. Santé Quebec says this is the 12th consecutive day in which Quebec has reported over 100 COVID-19 cases and the second straight day of 142 new cases.

Canada’s coronavirus death toll now totals 8,870.
