Quebec reports over 100 new coronavirus cases for the 11th consecutive day

The Quebec government revealed that the province’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 5,662 after announcing four more deaths and 142 new known cases since Tuesday morning.

According to Santé Quebec, there are now 57,938 cases in the province, 219 hospitalizations, and 12 patients in the ICU.

Currently, a reported 716,112 tests have turned up negative throughout Quebec, and over 30,000 cases have been resolved.

The new data had been reported by hospitals and public health officials as of Tuesday, July 21, at 6 pm. Santé Quebec says this is the 11th consecutive day in which Quebec has reported over 100 COVID-19 cases.

The provincial public health authority says that despite the new cases, hospitalizations continue to drop.

Canada’s coronavirus death toll now totals 8,862.
