Quebec cases surpass 61K after announcing more than 80 in past 24 hours

There are 87 new coronavirus cases confirmed in the province over the past 24 hours, bringing Quebec’s total to over 61,000.

According to Santé Quebec, the province’s coronavirus death toll has also increased by three since Thursday morning, raising the provincial total to 5,718.

There are now 61,004 cases in the province, 151 hospitalizations, and 25 patients in the ICU.

Currently, a reported 891,742 tests have turned up negative throughout Quebec, and 53,598 cases have been resolved.

The new data had been reported by hospitals and public health officials as of Thursday, August 13, at 6 pm.

Santé Quebec says that despite the newly announced cases, hospitalizations continue to stabilize.

Canada’s coronavirus death toll now totals 9,019.
