Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their second child, the BBC has reported.

Citing a spokesperson for the couple, the BBC confirmed the news on Sunday.

The couple have a one-year-old son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, who was born in May 2019.

“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” the spokesperson told the BBC. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

Photographer Misan Harriman shared a photo of the couple on social media, showing a visibly pregnant Markle resting her head on Harry’s lap.

In November 2020, Markle revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage the previous summer.

In a personal essay, the former Suits star shared a detailed account of her experience in the hopes of helping other women who have lived through the same trauma.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their “senior” royal duties early last year. The couple spent time in Canada before ultimately settling in California.
