Presale tickets for Montreal NBA game go on sale tomorrow

NBA fans across Montreal should mark their calendars.

Presale tickets for the upcoming preseason matchup between the Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder will go on sale this Wednesday.

Earlier this month, the NBA announced that on Thursday, October 12, a game between Oklahoma City and Detroit would be played at the Bell Centre as part of the league’s ninth Canada Series.

And while tickets for the general public go on sale on Friday, August 25 at 10 AM (local time), last year’s Bell Centre matchup between the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics sold out weeks in advance, which means fans should probably purchase their tickets sooner than later.

As for what basketball fans can expect on the big night, OKC features two Canadians on their starting roster with star point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and shooting guard Luguentz Dort, a Montreal native.

And the thought of getting to play at the highest level in his hometown is something Dort said he is very much looking forward to.

“After growing up and learning to play the game of basketball in Montréal, it will be a special experience to play a preseason game in my hometown,” the 24-year-old said in a press release. “Canada and Montreal are home to some of the best basketball fans in the world, and I’m looking forward to taking the floor at Bell Centre.”

Meanwhile, the Pistons’ squad features 2021-22 NBA All-Rookie First Team member Cade Cunningham, 2022-23 NBA All-Rookie Second Team member Jaden Ivey and 2023 No. 5 overall draft pick Ausar Thompson.

This year’s Canada Series will also include a game between the Raptors and Sacramento Kings on the other side of the country when the teams hit up Rogers Arena in Vancouver on October 8.

People can now register for exclusive presale ticket access at the Canada Series’ official page.

As of August 25, they can be purchased directly through the Evenko website.
