Environment Canada issues wind warning for Montreal

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Montreal and surrounding regions as heavy winds are expected today.

According to Environment Canada, strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 90 kilometers per hour are expected for this evening and will gradually diminish overnight.

The wind warning is in effect for:

  • Châteauguay – La Prairie area
  • Laval area
  • Longueuil – Varennes area
  • Montréal Island area

Environment Canada warns that loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. So if you’re planning on heading outside later today be cautious.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
