It’s almost the weekend and our Thursday events for today, August 16, will help you get there in style. Montreal’s hosting a drag queen show, some comedy, and the most mysterious dinner in the city. Get ready to have a great Thursday.

Dîner en Blanc

Dîner en Blanc is a secretive, world-renowned dinner that has some strict guidelines: all guests must dress fashionably in white, head-to-toe. No ivory, no off-white, no beige. All white.

Tonight, more than 5,500 participants show up at any of the 30 meeting points scattered throughout the city (meeting locations are found on the Dîner en Blanc website). Guests then converge to the secret spot, keeping the location a mystery until the very last second.

Cinema NDG Under the Stars

Cinema NDG has been hosting free outdoor movies all summer and tonight they’re screening Wes Anderson’s animated flick Isle of Dogs. The all-star cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum, Bryan Cranston, Tilda Swinton and Frances McDormand.

The film will be screened in English with French subtitles.

Drag Superstars at Montreal Pride

This massive drag queen show features 12 performers from RuPaul’s drag race, vying for the first place prize. The 3-hour show features a fashion show, skits, dancing and musical numbers.

Tinder Tales

After a brief hiatus to take part in the Just for Laughs festival, Tinder Tales is back at the Wiggle Room with a fresh line up of steamy online dating stories. Hosted by comedian Monica Hamburg, the show features various comedians telling their own Tinder tales as well as selected passages that were sent in.

The show is 18 years old and older.

Holy Musical Batman

This superhero musical follows Batman as he dances and sings his way to cleaning up the mean streets of Gotham City. The comedy-based script is written by Nick and Matt Lang and features a big and impressive professional cast of actors from all over Montreal.
