We can’t get too close to the city, but thanks to some tankcam footage, we can get pretty high above it.

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds, who included Montreal as part of their Eastern Canadian trek last week, shared footage from high above the island.

Nine jets soared through Quebec’s skies on Thursday, leaving behind a trail of white smoke to salute those doing their part to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dubbed “Operation INSPIRATION,” the Saskatchewan-based Snowbirds flew over the maritime provinces on Wednesday before flying over the Saint Lawrence River on Thursday and Ontario over the weekend.

If you didn’t get a chance to see the Snowbirds from the ground, watching them zoom through Montreal is definitely a unique perspective, especially being able to see the plane’s smoke trail.

According to the Snowbirds website, these CT-114 Tutors get going up to 190 km/h, good enough to zoom around the island in less than 5 minutes.

Can you see your place?
