Snow-clearing operation to resume in Montreal after the holidays

Dec 31 2019, 3:52 pm

The recent snowfall throughout Montreal will be removed — but only after New Year’s Day.

Montreal launched an island-wide snow-removal campaign in November, the city’s earliest snow-clearing operation ever, and round two will get underway on Thursday morning, January 2.

According to Jean-Francois Parenteau, Montreal executive committee member and Verdun’s Mayor, the snow-clearing operation will start throughout the city at 7 am on Thursday.

15 cm of snow fell throughout the day yesterday and up to 6 more cm could be on its way in the next 24 hours.
