The most memorable kind of Christmas trees are the ones with character and downtown Montreal’s “Sapin XP” certainly fits the scaffold mold.
XP_MTL, a non-profit organization that offers festive programming, has set up a giant Christmas tree in front of the Place Canada Trust, made out of scaffolding because, Montreal.

XP_MTL crews have been gradually setting up the Sapin XP throughout the past week and tomorrow, the 60-foot-high structure will be officially illuminated for the holidays.
The “tree” will light up at 7:30 pm tomorrow, accompanied by Quebec singer/songwriter Annie Villeneuve, six choir singers, and DJ TŌKI as the tree lights up for the holiday season.
Even though tomorrow is the Sapin XP’s official illumination, Montrealers have been sharing pictures of the scaffold tree on Instagram and it seems like it’s already a popular fit for downtown.
