Montreal police seek public's help in hate speech investigation

Montreal police are asking the public’s help for information about a man who racially attacked an Ahuntsic mother and her two-year-old daughter last month.

The video, which received over 500,000 views on Twitter, shows a man verbally assaulting a woman in front of a daycare on Boulevard St-Laurent as she spoke Arabic to her daughter.

The man calls the woman a “slut” in French and makes rude comments towards her, allegedly because they were Arabic.

Montreal police have asked people who know the man in question or anyone who has been victimized by the suspect to call their local police department or Info-Crime Montreal.

SPVM officials remind the public that all calls are treated anonymously and confidentially.
