Montreal will host a North American gender summit in November

The Gender Summit North America 2017 will be held in Montreal from November 6 to 8.

More than 650 participants are expected to attend this international summit on gender equality, diversity and inclusion in the sciences.

The summit, organized by the Fonds de recherche du Québec and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, will go beyond the usual framework of gender to address issues affecting LGBTQ2 communities and Indigenous people. 

Speakers include:

  • Line Chamberland, professor, Department of Sexology and Research Chair on Homophobia, Université du Québec à Montréal
  • Joëlle Pineau, Associate Professor of Computer Science, Co-Director of McGill University’s Reasoning and Learning Lab, and Director of the Facebook AI Research Lab
  • Dominique Anglade, Deputy Premier of Québec, Minister of Economy, Science and Innovation and Minister responsible for the Digital Strategy
