According to The Weather Network’s week-long forecast for Montreal, we could be celebrating Queen Victoria’s birthday in what would feel like 32ºC.

The extended forecast does come with a chance of showers but also predicts six solid hours of sunlight.

May 20 is a statutory holiday that is celebrated in every province and territory across the country and with regular daytime temperatures expected to hit a high of 24ºC, the humidex index of 32ºC would be Montreal’s first 30-degree weather of 2019, a welcomed addition.

Besides potentially capping off the long weekend in heat, the weather agency predicts that Montreal could enjoy a sunny and toasty end to the week, leading up to Monday.

Thursday and Friday are expected to share 15ºC temperatures before Saturday and Sunday are expected to heat up a touch to 17ºC. What’s equally encouraging heading into the weekend is the seven hours of sunlight on Thursday followed by the six on Friday through Victoria Day Monday.

Light rain and clouds are forecasted for Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, but we’ll gladly take two days of early-workweek gray for a long weekend of sunshine and heat.
