It’s the first weekend of fall in Montreal but don’t assume this city is ready to hibernate.

The beer-fueled festival might be rooted in German tradition but Montrealers are up to celebrate. We’ve rounded up some of the most noteworthy Volks-festivies in and around Montreal this fall.

This culinary festival offers a taste of island life sans passport. The initiative from the Martinique Tourism Committee offers a workshops, tastings, dishes, and cocktails “inspired by their vision of the gastronomy of Île aux Fleurs.”

Day trip to Knowlton, Quebec, this fall for a ducking good time at Lac-Brome Duck Fest. Expect everything from BBQ duck to duck poutine, along with 30 exhibitors serving up wines, ciders, and spirits from the best vineyards and distilleries.

When: September 23 and 24 from 10 am to 5 pm
Top chefs from across Montreal congregate on stage for cooking demos and master classes hosted by this famous French food publication. Look forward to appearances by Adrien Renaud (Food Lab), Stephanie Labelle (Pâtisserie Rhubarbe), Marc-Olivier Frappier (Joe Beef, Liverpool House), and many more.
